SCANROPE AWARDED NEW NOK 80 MILLION CONTRACT
Blom announced on 19th May that an agreement had been entered into to purchase 100 per cent of the shares in Scanrope Holding AS for NOK 170 million. Scanrope’s two business areas are related to electricity and control cables for offshore installations, and anchoring systems for ship and offshore installations.
ScanRope AS has entered into another major contract with an American company to supply anchoring systems for use in the Gulf of Mexico. Production will take place from November 2006 until May 2007. ScanRope will be delivering both steel rope and synthetic rope for pre-set anchoring systems for mobile exploration rigs. These are newly-developed products and thus represent a major breakthrough for the company. The contract is worth some NOK 80 million.
With this contract, ScanRope has set a record in orders received this spring for anchoring systems. This past month’s orders have exceeded NOK 160 million.
Blom is very pleased with how ScanRope is developing and can see that the expectations of orders increasing have been met.
