CARTOGRAPHY FOR TOURISM IN THE REPUBLIC OF HONDURAS

Between 1999- 2001 a mapping and modelling project was executed for the Secretary of Tourism in the Republic of Honduras. The project included basic cartography, 1:5 000 scale orthophoto and 1:1 000 scale vectorial urban cartography production of an area covering 600 sq.km and 12 000 cadastral units. In addition, it included Cadastral Information System implementation at Bahia Islands for the Bahia Islands Enviromental Program. 

Novotecni, Initec and Asp Ingenieros were all cooperatives on the project. In the process Cessna and Commander twin-engine planes, RC-30 digital and analogue cameras, Ascot navigation system ,Vexcel 5 000 and Photoscan scanners were used.
