TIFF QC

Introduction

SAL TIFF-QC (TIFF and JPEG 2000 Quality Control) is a Windows 2000/XP based software package developed for the efficient review of raster image data, including satellite images, air photographs and scanned maps in Geo-TIFF and JPEG 2000 file format.

Point features of interest are easily added to a detailed database for reporting, tracking, and change detection. This robust and easy-to-use tool allows users to quickly review multiple images at once. 

Capabilities

In the SAL TIFF-QC layout view window as shown on the right, the mosaic layout area is divided into tiles (i.e., blocks) to display an entire raster map as a series of composing images.The images can then be examined in detail to determine their quality. The image quality analysis results can be stored within a single database.

TIFF-QC program also provides a set of error type analysis tools, which allows the user to produce and print error reports, managing the image error handling process over the network.

SAL TIFF-QC includes a plug-in for Adobe® Photoshop®, which will read the database file and move the user to explicit errors within the tile for processing. Once the error is processed the plug-in updates the database, which is then sent back to the quality assurance person.

The main SAL TIFF-QC software functional attributes are:

• Loading, processing, displaying, modifying, saving and deleting SAL TIFF-QC projects.
• Joining tiles into a complex "mosaic" image.
• Making the tiles visible or invisible (Switching off and on the separate mosaics).
• Inputting summaries and comments in any font size and colour on the image.
• Assignment to objects, sites of district, lines, points, contours of any styles, colours, shadings etc.
• Scaling the images.
  Coordinate definition of any points on the image.
• Displaying the current image for detailed study of its elements.
• Providing a select-function which allows the choosing and moving of markers to any position.
• Tile colour and style assignment.
• Ability to change font type, colour and size of text labels
